Generally, expectations skyrocket when people hear that Selvaraghavan is going to direct a new movie. And we never know what to expect; the director keeps on moving to various kinds of films. We can only say that Selvaraghavan’s career has been memorable so far, right from ‘Thulluavadho Ilamai’ to his most recent epic movie ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’. Recently, Selvaraghavan made plans to come up with a new movie ‘Erandam Ulagam’ with Dhanush and Andrea Jeremiah in the leading roles. But, things went awry, when the actress suddenly walked out of the project citing reasons that we don’t know. So, Selvaraghavan started a fresh movie starring Dhanush and Richa Gangopadhyay. In August 2011, ‘Mayakkam Enna’ became the title for the movie – which literally means “What’s this Wooziness”. And reports came in that Dhanush would parade four different looks in the film.
Ever since, Selvaraghavan has clarified that the movie has a completely different script from the earlier one which got shelved. Reportedly, Dhanush is going to play various stages in the life of the protagonist, ranging from a teenager to an old man.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack by G. V. Prakash Kumar was released on 19 September 2011 and has received mostly positive reviews. Moreover, a couple of songs written by Dhanush himself have become the highlights of this album. ‘Voda Voda’ has come out as the favorite track for youngsters while ‘Kadhal En Kadhal’ is doing great with almost everyone. ‘Ennana Seidhom’ will be a transcendent delight for the elder section of music fans. Other tracks in the album are Naan Sonnadhum Mazhaivandhucha, Pirai Thedum, and Mayakkam Enna Theme.
“This isn’t a love story, but there is a lot of romance into it” says Selvaraghavan. The director guarantees that this one is not just a new type of movie, but a completely new movie going experience for film buffs. The movie will be loved especially by the younger audience, as it is reportedly going to showcase various problems faced by the younger generation. The teaser for the movie came out recently, seeing which we can certainly say that there is a lot of difference in Danush’s acting style. He essays the role of a photographer and brings out the experiences of the character in various stages of life.
Although the movie was expected to release on 25 November 2011, we now hear that it will actually be released on 18 November 2011. Anyway, keep looking here for more Mayakkam Enna updates
